Having your house pressure tested with the blower door, and scanned with the infrared camera will reveal where your house is losing energy. The energy auditor will walk the homeowner through the testing process, and offer energy saving solutions along the way.

Energy Evaluation
An energy evaluation includes blower door pressure testing, infrared scanning, and a complete energy evaluation of the entire home. Having an energy evaluation will include efficiency testing of the furnace or boiler, and an inspection of doors, windows and insulation levels. A detailed report explaining testing results, and a prioritized list of recommended measures will be included.

Energy Audit
An energy audit is a top to bottom energy evaluation of your home which includes blower door pressure testing, infrared scanning, and efficiency testing of heating appliances.The audit will list the estimated costs of suggested upgrades vs. estimated savings, or the savings to investment ratios. A full energy audit is required to qualify for Efficiency Maine Energy programs.

Post Weatherization Testing
It is extremely important to have all natural draft heating appliances re-tested for proper draft, once weatherization measures have been installed. Now that your home has been weatherized, the amount of air needed to safely operate and draft the heating system may be reduced. This is usually an easy fix once the new building pressures have been determined.
We also test for the amount of fresh air that is now entering the home, compared to the amount of fresh air necessary for healthy homes and clients. Having your house re-tested will also show the effectiveness of work performed.
